If you want one now, no need to sit on one. Just get saving! Welcome.

I'm the same size and no problem, if there was then there is plenty you can do about it. The newest Monster (696) is even smaller anyway. It's definitely not bad luck to buy the bike before the test. Not at all.
Good Luck and let us know how you get one.

plenty people buy bike's before the acquiring the licence , presumably to spur them on a bit, think id wait till I had the paper unless it was particularly cheap or something

Welcome to the club, another local one

I'd go with what Scotty says about buying, why rush unless there's a bargain on the horizon.

Are you doing the DAS up at Abbey Rider Training??

Welcome to the world of monsters! I passed in Dec and having great time out in about on my monster. Loads of great roads around here. Good luck with your test. I do know of a 600 monster which is very clean and well looked after. Pm me if you want more info.

Not a million miles away, about 5 minutes.... or 2 if I'm in a hurry! Not far from the Blunsdon Arms.

For the record, us Swindonites are roughly as follows
Shandy - tall ginger bloke on a very yellow 600
Giler - balding bloke on a 900 dark with clip ons
Natty Boy - large headed skinny bloke on a Tricolor 600
Steveo900 - red 900
Jules - red 600
Me - black 1000 with high level pipes
