Bank Hol weekend: Brands Hatch, Sat to Mon
Thought we'd posted this up, but couldnt find the thread (must have been day dreaming )
If anyone is at a loss of something to do, we are racing at least 2 of the Ducati's at Brands this weekend (the 1098s #36 in the Supertwins, the trick M800ie #9 in Junior Powerbikes and possibly also the 2nd Monster 800ie in the Minitwins too). Testing is all day on Saturday (free gate entry), with racing all day on Sunday & Monday (£12 per day or £16 for 2 day ticket) We'll be in garage 6 for the entire time - so if you do decide to come along & want to watch racing in the sunshine (yep, its supposed to be good weather!) come & say 'hi' to us. Apologies if you turn up when we are busy - but hang on for a couple of minutes & we'll try & free ourselves to chat for a bit. Cheers CK |

If this is an open invite, we're local so may pop down. Pit Lane access is normally restricted isn't it? If not we'll pop in...anytime good/to be avoided on Saturday?

Its an open invite fella.
You are right about the garage paddock - thats likely to have nothing allowed in & out all day except race bikes & pedestrians, so prob best to park up behind the main grandstands & walk over (tunnel under track by startline) - but you can always try..... |

I have a confession to make, I've never been to a circuit to actually watch a race bike in action just watched on the idiot box so, since free is my favorite price I might pop by on Saturday too.

Brilliant - just do step back if spanners are flying tho
We will now definately have the 2nd Monster out too (tho not on the Sat as its already full) - so its going to be full on with 3 bikes out all weekend ! CK |

I turned up today but didn't head over to the pits as it all looked a bit busy, groups of bikes going out as soon as the previous come in. I did watch for a while, and spotted the orange and purple Ducatis. It was cool to see and hear so many different kinds of bikes.

Gary - it was great to see you mate - just wish I could have spent more time nattering, but things got a bit hectic at times.........
race update: Sat: Sam got pole, then missed the 1st race due to alternator problem 2nd race got 1st! Clint - came 5th in class in the 1st GP1/Supertwin race - a superpole race. However - after he had passed the chequered flag, he didnt steady up but steamed on, and the bike over into the gravel. Extensive bodywork & sticky out bits damaged, tho engine still runs sweet. Clint decided to hang up his boots with the team due to him having complete lack of finances to repair the bike........ouch Sunday: Sam won the 1st race - and was 2nd in the 2nd one - a HUGE well done to him! Matt stepped up to the mark big time and rode the minitwin never having sat on it before til qualifying - got into the low 53's yesterday! He got a clutch of 5ths & 6th, coming over the line midway through the whole grid in 14th/15th place - well done young fella, you should be proud of yourself! Matt didnt complete the last race due to him feeling the engine wasnt running right on the penultimate lap tho he had been having a good battle till then - a huge credit to him for taking mature action & brining it back to the pitlane, as this might have saved AK for a hefty rebuild later! Many thanks to all you lovely people who came along to support over the 3 days - its such a pleasure to see you all! Benelli Dave & Derek, Brent, Senna3 & Trudi, Murraymint & Bev (all weekend these 2!), Kato, Dementor & Sandra (for both days!) Everton & Straycat, Paul & Tom from Snells, Dean & Ari, Jo & Harley, Gary T - and many more who popped in Biggest thumbs up goes to NickB #34, who rode the R6 all the way back to our house to collect a spare alternator on Sunday afternoon - and got back just in time to see Sam takethe chequered flag - as AK had managed to temporarily fix the bike to run total loss (not fun on a fuel injected bike!)
