wont start!

Switched igntion on......went to push the starter.nothing.no lights/indicators.NOWT .............left ignition on.....the flicked the rocker switch.next to the throttle to off.........got all the lights on the dash.........but no lights,just the indicators buzz like hell........and the rev counter flicks to 2000rpm then down to 0rpm?????? any idea's

Regulator or rectifier - whatever they call it. That's exactly what happened to Stu.

Go carefull with jump leads, the preious owner of mine tried that and it a blew up both ignition control units, cost him a packet just before he sold it to me.

Have you tried the usual cleaning the relay under the seat yet????

i used the jump cables.......then rode home the last 5 miles home.bike was fine.everything worked.....
How do i test the regulator/rectifire?????

Sounds like not enough go go is getting from your battery to bits that matter then if it went off jump leads.

Or as Chappers was saying how olds your battery??? Sometimes they can test ok at the garage but that doesn't allways tell you the whole story, if its old it might not be up to making things go.

had the battery 'load' tested and its fine.........so the local battery centre said

You need to test the voltage coming back when it is running.
But getting it running can be the problem!
I would try another battery first.

Connect a meter across the battery and measure the volts with the engine running - it shouldn't be more than 14.5V. If is then the regulators faulty.
