Hello, what do you think of my Monster?

Hi Everyone,

New to forums, not so new to Ducati. I have recently done a nut and bolt restoration of my 97 M750. There are a few pics in the link above. I would be really interested to hear what you guys think of it.

I wanted to create a sort of light Café Racer look with the bike. The work I have done:

Powder-coat frame, wheels and swing arm in high gloss black, Black engine enamel, brushed and blowtorched Oil burned Crank case covers to give an aged patina look, ground off anything on the frame that didn't serve a purpose, alcantara covered seat, some anodised gold components, LED rear light, Carbon Dan Moto clip ons, glass exhaust Wrap, Raied rear end, lowered front end, Clip on bars, gone up a few teeth on the rear sprocket and hidden as much of the wiring as poss.

I chucked the vacuum fuel system for good old fashioned gravity but the engine didn't run well so have put the vacuum system back in. Considering switching to an electric fuel pump, has anyone done this on an early monster?

Nice work. The seat is my favorite bit..

.. I've wanted an Alacantara seat on a Monster for more years than I can remember.

I made one for my 650 Triumph about twenty years ago, it wore well and was water proof.

I will be getting the Singer out again soon, when I can produce some patterns from my seat...Kinda tricky with it in place, and I don't want to unpick it as it's very much in use....

I'm having a 'mare trying to get the exact shapes off the seat, as it's all stretched over.
Paper does not yield enough. I was trying an old pillow case this evening, that's just a bit too stretchy, so it's not going to be very acurate..

Laying a genuine one flat is the only way to do it , I think.

...So yes please to a loan of one.

The seat was a little tricky, a lot of trial and error. But a million staples later it has worked!
