Timing inspection cover

Found this on Ebay and seems a good price but anyone any idea if it will fit my evo? It looks the same shape. I sent them a message so fingers crossed they reply but thought I'd see if anyone on here had any idea

It's usually just a flat plate with a groove cut in and an o ring. I'm not sure what the Panigale has though? Have you taken yours off to have a look?

I am told by the company that it will fit and if it doesn’t I can return it

Time for some carbon now I think. Boredom of not riding is getting the better of me especially last week when it was warm. Working from home novelty has gone already and I spent all my time taking the evo in bits earlier in the year ready for spring. How do you cure this? Carbon Fibre

I think you might have a problem, Ryan. The inspection caps fit within a recess rather than sitting on top of the crankcase so they mirror the shape of the recess.

If you compare the V4 cap with the Monster's you can see they have different profiles around the screw holes.

This is the Monster:

And this is the V4:

I don't think the V4 one will clear the edge of the recess on the Monster.

The carbon sounds like a good idea - what are you thinking of?

Bugger. I’ll see what happens when it arrives. Thinking belt covers and rear hugger as a start maybe then sprocket cover but is it only a matter of time before things get silly?

It's no good asking me - I passed 'silly' about five years ago! My habit's probably somewhere between 'crazy' and 'ridiculous' now

I have a CNC racing one on my 796, I'm sure it would fit the 1100 also .

Ahh now carbon is dangerous stuff . You buy a small piece first of all and are happy . The you end up replacing every plastic piece on the bike with the stuff and a empty bank account .

It’s not arrived yet but will see what happens when it does.

Doggy I did consider the cnc racing cover as I like the made in Italy written on it.

As for carbon I’ve not done anything yet as you say it’s a matter of time before the plastic is all replaced by carbon. I did it on my daytona and even got as bad as buying carbon bits and returning them as the gloss or weave wasn’t the same between manufacturers. If I still had the bike I would probably have carbon fairings it got that silly

I hope you've got deep pockets and long arms, Ryan, because it is possible to replace virtually every piece of black plastic or metal with carbon fibre or billet aluminium

If you're worried about matching up carbon weaves, I used three different suppliers on my Evo: Ducati Performance, Fullsix Carbon and Carbon4Us. The weaves were identical for all three http://www.ukmonster.co.uk/monster/s...ad.php?t=55168

Then when you've done all that you can move on to titanium fasteners. It's never-ending, seemingly!

Can anybody recomend a decent place on line to order some bolts? I see there are various places on ebay, but will they be made of cheese ?

I ordered a 14t front sprocket yesterday and have just been out and loosened the two little bolts that hold it on and they are rotten so was going to replace them . I think they are M5x16mm .

100% feedback

Thanks

Kay fasteners are usually pretty good for BZP/Zinc or SS A2 socket bolts and cap screws
If you have a Screwfix locally they used to hold quite a big range but seem to be trimming it back lately

+1 for Kay's Fasteners. Good quality and sensible prices too.

If you only want a couple of bolts, it's cheaper to use their eBay shop but, if you have a large order, then go through their online store https://www.kayfast.co.uk/
