Clutch parts HDESA
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F263547183683
Anyone used these, I’m at the point where I’m assembling parts ready to do a major service and I know I need to rebuild the clutch, baskets worn and the inner hubs been damaged and repaired on one spring turret. Going to need at least friction plates if not drive and friction plates, any suggestions please .. Cheers Ally |

I've never come across that particular one, but it should be okay, if it is hard anodised.
You will need alloy friction plates in an alloy basket. I have not seen a holding tool like that either. It would be handy for the outer basket, but you might have noticed the torque setting for the clutch centre nut engraved in it..190Nm. As the tool seems to rely on bolting it to the cases, you are risking the cases with at least 190Nm of force to remove the nut. If it plays silly buggers and decides not come easily, then the cases might crack...Probably fine but I'd be paranoid. Besides I have a clutch centre holding tool you can borrow. As well as heavy duty taking off and putting on spanners. I got an EVR clutch for mine, from Max. He's on the forum as Pompone, but he will be in Italy for a while. Not sure how to contact him now to be honest?

Hub and centre look to be a good price, I second Mr Gazza on clutch holding tool -too much sheer stress on 3 long 6mm case holding bolts/clutch casing

I’ve seen pictures of both holding tools, 190nm, hmmmm, I think I’ll avoid the one that’s sold in this kit and opt for the long handle metal tool. Checked the reviews on the plastic tool and they break really easy. I don’t want to risk my casings or knuckles.
Undoing it shouldn’t be a problem, I have a 1/2 inch battery breaker with a 1650nm rating. Had problems with front sprocket nuts in the past. Now to learn how to search the forum, I glimpsed mentions of a quiet clutch mod. |
