Sport shocks for road use

Hi All,

Been looking at entry / lower-mid range rear shocks and have seen quite a wide range but have no idea which is rated highly by owners. I've looked at the following and would like to hear from anyone who's currently or previously used them what they think;

Hyperpro - Sport
Wilbers - 540
Ohlins - S46
Hagon
YSS

All seem to come in at around the £300 to £400 mark with Ohlins the most at £395 and YSS the cheapest (never heard of them).

Whilst I'd love some super expensive remote reservoir jobby money wont stretch that far!

I have Ohlins on both my Monsters, totally transformed the ride and handling.

Nitron are right up there with Ohlins (but made in UK)

Can't fault Ohlins (other than the price), I've got Ohlins on my Monster and my 916 has Ohlins shock and forks, the ride is fautless.

I have a Nitron rear shock.
I'm not sure that I can comment honestly about its performance, partly because the harsh, std forks tend to mask it and partly because I'm not sure that my judgement is that finely tuned anyway.
I can tell you that the build quality is superb though ... better than Ohlins in my opinion.

Another Nitron fan here- I've run their 'Sport' shock for ten years now and at the beginning of last year sent it back to them for a service and a new spring (I've put on a few pounds in ten years).

A couple of weeks later it was back looking as good as new and coupled with my Maxton converted forks was working like new too.

I cannot fault the customer service or quality of components they use.

Ive got a Nitron, cant fault it. The build quality is peerless.

Nitron would be my first choice, I run one of these on my S2R800.
Ohlins is of course very good,
Wilbers is also rated quite well.
I have a Hagon on my 900, it's good (much better than the tired original) but not up to Nitron / Ohlins / Wilburs quality or performance.

Nitron looks good.

Unfortunately gf has just quit working for EMAS so we are living on one salary for a month

Still least I know what to ask santa for Xmas this year

If its really is going to be Christmas, HPS often have a Christmas deal on.
When I got my Nitron they bunged in the hydraulic preload adjuster at half price.
I've seen similar offers most years since then.
