They claim 100bhp at the crank for the EVO - it's the most powerful air-cooled motor they ever made. Reckon on about 85 at the rear wheel, probably. (I think JP had his dyno'd at 88.)

The 1200S claims 145 peak at the crank. So, 45% more! Some of that from more torque generally, the rest because it won't run out of revs at 8000rpm.

IMHO the EVO has more than enough for UK roads - enough to go stupidly fast and get into trouble... you just have to work a bit harder at it and that, for me, is where the enjoyment comes from anyway. If you go on track, however, it is frustrating because a 600cc rice burner or a 675 Triumph will leave an EVO for dead on any decent length of straight. The 1200 will not have that trouble.
