If it's like the 900s, it takes a good thump to seat it again. Make sure you've got all the grub screws loosened enough (take 'em out entirely if not sure - but don't drop any in the tank).
I think I worked a wooden hammer shaft around the edge of the tank ring to get it started the first time I disturbed it. Didn't take a lot.
