They're similar but not quite the same, both sticky oils. The K&N type is usually in an aerosol, foam filter oil comes in a container.
K&N sprays on the surface of the thin cotton (or whatever it is) filter material, foam oil you squeeze into the material.
Either would work with both filters, its just going to be the application of it.
