ive got the 899. i do love it and is surprisingly comfortable. not monster standards but good for a sportbike. as damien says after riding an '03 monster the tech on the bike is mind blowing and actually starts to spoil you a bit.
They are stunning machines though. i think the 1299 and the v4's lost some of the looks and got a bit bloated for the v4
