This time last year, I fitted individual bar risers to my Monster and I mentioned at the time how it was a bit of a chore trying to torque each one up while keeping them perfectly straight.

Well, I had cause to remove them recently and thought about how to overcome that problem. My solution was to buy a short length of 1 1/8" aluminium tube from eBay for under a fiver.

That's exactly the same diameter as the centre section of the fatbars. I then drilled a 10mm hole straight through to accommodate a 8mm allen key. By positioning the hole over the riser bolt then tightening the other clamp, the two risers are secured together and the first clamp can be torqued down without moving. Then, just swap the tube over and tighten the second clamp.
Result, two properly torqued and perfectly aligned bar risers.
