My apologies, Vince, my memory must be playing tricks with me. Although I seem to have the tank covers off almost every other week, it's been quite a few years since I actually changed the air filter. I'd forgotten that I'd also fitted the Termi exhaust at the same time so I'd have had to lift the tank to swap the ECU.

Still, lifting the tank itself is the simple bit (assuming there's not too much fuel in it) it's the covers that are time consuming. I wouldn't recommend removing the tank completely as that means disconnecting the QD fuel pipes and it's easy to damage their o-rings.

I don't know whether you've lifted the tank yet but one thing you should look out for when replacing it is that the two fuel pipes that run along the right underside edge of the tank are located properly. There are two channels moulded into the tank base that guide the pipes, which usually pop out when you move the tank so just make sure that they are fully home.
