There's an LM2 in pieces underneath some bins in my garage.

Bloody thing broke down every time I rode it either by setting fire to itself or by spewing oil out of any orifice it could find and pretty much always at night, in the rain, abroad

I repaired the rear light electrics after they caught fire in Belgium at night in the rain by cutting lengths of wire off some motorway fencing and wrapping them in duct tape.

The fuel tank sprung a leak on the cat over to Caen, that was 'repaired' by cutting a chunk of camping mat, squashing it under the tank and ratchet strapping the tank down on it. Amazing what you can buy in a French petrol station at night, in the rain, again.

The engine breather tank broke in two in central France covering my leg and the rear of the bike in oil which I discovered when we went sideways off the road and into a field in the dark. I left it on its side, put my tent up and went to sleep. The next day it was repaired with a Volkswagen beetle engine breather from a local scrappy.

The condenser failed and the new points sparked themselves to death on the way to LeMans, replaced by ones out of an old rusty Renault rotting behind a garage.

It's downfall was having the temerity to go onto one cylinder outside Manosque in Southern France. It got ridden all the way back up the AutoRoute Du Sud and back to blighty wide open on one with smoke coming out the other. Needs a new rod, barrel and piston on the side.

My mate, an ex-guzzi mechanic refuses to work on it and the rest refused to let me bring it on any trip involving a ferry/tunnel (even ones in London), one of them offered me an old CX500 to ride to Le Mans rather then me ride the Guzzi, I took the CX, it got there and back no problem.

One day I'm going to rebuild it, make a new loom and ride it somewhere/anywhere and get home without issue, it won't beat me.

Alternatively, next time it sets itself on fire I'm going to push it over, stand back and laugh.

It's fecking possessed or allergic to water and anywhere foreign.
