Like Chris, when I had my 900ie, I just shorted out the female connector by bridging the two active feeds. I used a loop of thin gauge copper, which meant it could still push the connector back together for weather proofing. As Chris mentioned, the danger is that you can now ride off with the stand down. There is a more sophisticated mod involving wiring a diode in with the neutral light, which means the motor will run with the stand down but only when it's in neutral.

I was going to try it on my 900 but part-exchanged it for the S2R before I got round to it. (I removed the bypass wire first so I wouldn't feel responsible for the next owner riding off with the stand down!)
