I didn't have too much trouble undoing the rose joint bolts but as already mentioned you do need to take the load off to find the 'sweet spot' to get them out.

My preferred method is to suspend the rear of the bike using straps from a step ladder positioned over the frame- the front is supported in the usual way with a paddock stand meaning it remains perfectly stable while you work on the bike.





I originally had the joints extended by 32mm but after fitting a pair of Michelin Pilot Road 3's they slowed the steering so much it felt horrible and so I moved them out another 6 to 38mm to speed it back up.



Again, as mentioned you can simply fit a pair of Louigi Moto's extenders but in doing so with Rich's latest batch you will need to cut the threaded part of the rose joint down so it fits all the way in and then you are limited to a set extension.

They do look very neat though:
