Be aware that Yamaha used the MT 03 name twice - from 2006 to 2014 it used the XT660 single cylinder engine, from 2016 onwards it is a 321cc twin (basically the YZF-R3 with the fairing removed). SWMBO has the later twin. They are obviously different in the way that they produce their power, you will have your own view on which engine layout would provide the best runaround.
Subject to ULEZ suitability, Yamaha's TDM might be worth considering.
