I'll let you into a small secret.
Even the rivet that holds the seat latch together is titanium.
I know, I made it.
But that's not really about lightness .. its art.
All the best artists are obsessive, aren't they ?
Similarly, my own bike has a clevis on the rear brake master cylinder that I laboriously hacked from solid using mostly just a hacksaw and files.
That is actually a monument to ti-Pete, and is made from the first little piece of titanium bar that I ever had .. which he gave me.
And I happen to know that Oz's bike has frivolous, one-off, ti top hat washers on, I believe, the front mudguard.
But a hap'orth of tar is a hap'orth of tar.
Also, I believe Merlin's bike is a bit light, is it not ?
