Be careful with the silicon!, quite some time ago a customer had used that recommended method only to find out that the small holes in the bars that the small pegs on the switches line up with had aloud the silicon to enter.
It took him forever to clean up the inside of the switch gear and he was alittle red faced about his exploits....
