The LED tacho unfortunately didn't stay on the bike very long.
I got it calibrated quite well in the end, was very pleased with myself, then found that despite taking the power feed to it directly from the battery it was very sensitive to the battery voltage.
The revs shown dropped by @30% when I turned the headlight on, then dropped to almost nothing with High beam.
I'm working on something different at the moment.

It might work better if you use an LM2596 based buck step down on the power in and feed it a stable 9 - 10 volts. If you add the right unit you'll also get an LED voltage meter optionally giving you in or out volts. Very simple circuit, just a few variable resistors, two caps and an LM2596. A 'C' might be better to use but the vanilla IC would manage it fine.
