The next generation Monsters (696/796/1100) have the pillion pegs attached to the main footrests. I know the DP rearsets from my S2R just about fitted on my 1100 Evo, albeit lopsidedly, so you might be able to adapt some 696 type footrests to your S2R. You'd also need to check that the new footrests wouldn't interfere with your link pipes.
Note that, if you're taking the bike to the MOT without pillion pegs, remember to fit the single seat cowl otherwise it won't pass.
