Clutch refit problem.

Hi guys, I've followed the good old Haynes manual for a clutch refit. I've got to the point where I've done the six spring loaded bolts up and I can see that the last friction plate has enough space to move out of the basket and spin... I'm guessing that's bad...

All plates are in as per the manual ( 2x steel, 1x friction, 1x dished with dot on outside, alternating friction/steel, last plate being steel). 7 came out, 7 new ones went back in.

When I put the push rod in it didn't locate to the back easily and needed a bit of a tap to move all the way and the rod does activate with the clutch lever. The pressure plate is located with the marks in place and all screws done up.

I've removed the basket and replace the seal behind it today and then built everything back up. Has anyone else had this before as I'm not sure what would hold it further out?

Thanks,
Stu.
