I've done the job twice now with three bond over the last few weeks. Fitted a new starter motor from Electrex and didn't realise the drive gear had to be swapped from the original motor onto the new one so the case had to be taken off again......

There was no sign of any of the newly applied sealant "leaking" into the engine, I applied using the nozzle cut to approx 2-3mm.

Case back on again and no signs of weeping (either from me or the case)

PS - fitting a new starter motor has made a huge difference having already been down the up-rated cables/battery route previously over the years.
