It shouldn't need a full paint job though, should it ?
The logo is only under the lacquer, I presume.
I would've thought that it could be removed, maybe tidied up with a single colour coat and then re-lacquered.
Not that I'm a paint expert myself though, but the above sounds logical to me and perhaps wouldn't cost too much.
And the painter will probably still have some paint left with any luck.
Seems a shame to spoil the ship ...........
