The oil level plate fits between the two ribs cast into the casing, so the high level is just under the top rib and the low level is midway between the ribs.

More significant than the difference between the two plates is whether your bike was on the sidestand or “level” when you took the photo’s. With the right quantity of oul in it pretty much disappears from the window whilst on the side stand.
