No-one has mentioned the standard screws being too short before, it's rather odd as the cooler brackets are only 1.5mm thick,. so it follows that your screws were only in by less that 1.5mm in the first place?

Mine are M6 x 10mm Allen screws or cap head as they are also known. They are measured from beneath the head so they will have 10mm of thread.
I'm wondering if maybe your threaded inserts in the rubber are a little further in than normal?
Anyway you ought to be able to fit an M6 x 15 in there. Just type M6 x 15 cap head into the eBay search box and you will be spoilt for choice. You might as well change them for stainless while you're at it. I am now changing most of my stainless screws and bolts for Titanium as I go.

Don't forget to put a bit of coppaslip or molybdenum disulphide grease on the screws to stop them seizing in again.
