Whilst I believe the LH side helps, I'm not so sure about the right - at least on my M900 it feeds air primarily to the belt cover/wiring loom and an S4 will have a wider belt cover so likely the same?
I moved the oil cooler to the low position and with the absence of an airbox I now have a a direct path for cool air to the rear cylinder, I reckon this helps hugely but only on specific carb setups...
