A slipper clutch won't decrease engine breaking very much (if at all) I believe that's more dependent on the flywheel and compression and maybe engine size/crank weight and stuff like that. I would think it would actually be of benefit to that riding style since you don't have to worry about locking the wheel. I mean it never hurt them in SBK racing. Another benefit is that it will protect your engine from over revving if you do change down hard. I have found that if mine does kick in it does so very rapidly that you hardly notice it,sometimes the lever pulses a bit and can tap your knuckles if you mess up your down change.
