Bearing first is logical and it avoids masking the housing which would be more challenging than the face of the bearing. Thanks
Did not realise there was an O ring in there, I think the original must be so worn as to have adopted the top hat bore size and given the condition before it went into the blast cabinet was therefore invisible - it will obviously now need to be replaced.
Albie: will probably zinc pate it with my home brewed plant
