Hi Davkyt,
There's quite a difference between Halfords and the Wera Hex-Plus, especially if the Halfords are worn.

A worn or ill fitting tool will chew up any fastener. These Hex-Plus keys are designed to apply the force over a wider area and are made to an extremely high standard, they have patented the design.

" The Hex-Plus profile offers a greater contact surface in the head of the screw. The notching effect is therefore reduced to a minimum and damage to the screw head more or less eliminated. "

If you are continually chewing fasteners I'd get rid of the tool you are using.
