If you have a peek down the hole that the HT lead goes in you may see what looks like the point of a little brass woodscrew.
The core of the lead just screws straight onto that...It is possible to screw onto the insulation and make a dry connection.
I got my Ducati decals like yours today, and I wondered if you laquered over yours straight away... They say to leave them a week and wipe them over with soapy water, but I like to get that laquer on a bit sooner than that?
