There was no ballast rule when the SP1/2 where around. Yep Dave I think 500 is the minimum number to go racing. I think used to be 250. And Ducati did use the D16 as a "leverage" for the rules. But so did Aprilia wit their £10K transmission last year, and when Petronas built that Foggy bike where they produced them and never sold them. SBK is just like any other Motorsport. Next year should be interesting, with the one bike-one rider rule (and sadly without the Panigale...yet..
