If so, thats good to know, cos my tank is the later type, so that would mean that any of the later injection tanks should fit the seat that I have.
Externally metal tanks have a similar shape post Y2K, but injected ones have a bigger fuel cap opening to allow access to pump & filter inside. Tanks on monsters like the S4 have a slightly different shape underneath, and use a flat mounted gel battery. I think this might be due to the taller 4V heads, which forces the throttle bodies/airbox up into tank space. Maybe an S4 owner can confirm this?

Plastic tanks are a whole different ball game, and really depends on which
monster it was designed for.. M620, M800, S2R800, S2R1000 etc..
