I originally asked a question; how fast is a chain moving?
After exhaustive tests and a little experimentation, I came up with the number 3 or rather 1/3 (+/- .025%) of the road speed.
So if your doing 30mph your chain is moving at 10mph, or if your doing 90kph then the chain is doing 30kph. This seems holds true for all Ducati bikes with standard wheels and sprockets!
Just thought you’d like to know that, (now back to my anorak and train notebook)
