Hi guys, not been around for a long time, no internet access:(

Cant find my service book, had a service in july.

Need to check oil, should I do it when engine hot or cold? Also what oil should I top up with, its a 2002 M600.

Thanks,

Craig.

Engine warm(wait a few minutes after a ride for the oil to drain back down),
bike upright and level.
If the bike was serviced by a Ducati dealer they probably used Shell Advance Ultra 4
(my 2002 monster has a 'use only...' sticker on the engine casing).

Actually, that's not true, Ducati recommend Shell Advance Ultra because of a marketing tie up with Shell, dealers don't necessarilly use it. My local main dealer has used Rock Oil for years.
I'd top it up with pretty much any quality motorcycle oil if you don't know what was used when it was serviced, won't do it any harm ...
