Bob,
if the weathers looking good, I might cross the border and tag on as well if that's ok... If I do I'll find somewhere sensible on the A4 between Newbury and Speen to wait for you (don't know the road, so not sure about lay-bys etc along there....).

Cheers, and if I don't see you Sunday have a great day out !

Bob

looks like I'm not going to make it as I have a sticky brake caliper that needs stripping and cleaning. I'll try to get it done today but don't wait for me if I'm not at the meet.

Nat ,

Prior to seeing your posting Dunc rang me and we arranged a meet at his house at about 1045 in the morning, with a plan to go direct to Avebury via Chippenham etc. so we will have to try a quick rethink in the morning. PM me your mobile so that I can keep you posted.

Bob,
twas indeed a fun day, thanks for organizing it ! I've never ridden that road (A4 from Newbury to Avesbury) and indeed it was very nice. Don't know if you noticed but there were 4 of us for alot of the way (some yellow jap job, probably a Hornet I think) was on my tail for quite some way.

Nice to meet duncan, JR, Nat and Saxman - hope to see you again soon !

Nearly got wiped out by some stupid cow who could hardly see over the steering wheel on the R/B over the M4 at Theale  Jesus, how do these people get driving licences

Got near home a bit before my passport expired, so decided to drop into my local for a quickie - and guess what, yes, the heavens opened

Cheers guys, bring on spring......

Pete :)

Not only does Duncan know all the best roads and pubs (I only follow), but he also knows the best coffee shops. After a great ride up to Malmsbury, we returned via some more great biking roads, ending up in Chipping Sodbury for afternoon tea/coffee and cake, followed by a quick swop of bikes to give Duncan a taste of the 1000ie, then on home. Bit chilly, but no rain, and sun on q . Well done Bob!

JR was right. A great ride out and nice to see the few hardy souls that made it (its only Mid October fer Chrissakes)
Really enjoyed that blast back via Wroughton, Wootton Bassett, Malmesbury, Sherston, Acton Turville and Chipping Sodbury with very little traffic to hold us up, dry roads and tea and cake at the end.
Hope to see some of you soon.
