View Full Version : Sunday Sept 12th - On-Yer-Bike Ducati Day

Most of you in the Beds Areas should be aware that PeteS4 has been organising a Monster presence at the "On-Yer-Bike" dealer (just outside Aylesbury), at their open day on Sunday September 12th. For those of you that have never been there, this is a large bike dealer who also specialises in Italian Bikes, including Ducati's. They also have lots of second-hand bikes, accessories and clothing for sale. It will be a great day out and the more Monsters we can gather the better!! ;)

I'd like to propose that anyone who wishes to ride over with other Monsters, meets me at the usual pub in Clophill (Bedford, Stevenage, Luton, Welwyn areas), we can then ride over towards Milton Keynes and meet up with anyone from around that area who want's to ride in together. There is a petrol station with a "Little Chef" at the bottom of the A5 around Brickhill and just before the A5 for Milton Keynes, where we could meet up with Doc, Laurent, Stormie (PeteS4 if he has his insurance sorted) and any others etc.

PeteS4 will confirm times etc, then we can take it from there.

If your own areas wish to ride over on their own, then no problems, I don't want to stand on anyone's toes. This is only my suggestion for those who do want to meet up and travel on-mass making lots of noise! :burnout:

So.....whose interested.......????

I will come ! What time ?

Chris / Elaine / Stormie / Doc / Laurent / Keabs and anyone else.... ;)

The Plan is for everyone to meet up at McDonalds on the outskirts of Aylesbury ay 11:00, then leave at 11:30 to ride-in to On-Yer-Bike on mass.

I'm suggesting that we meet up at the Petrol Station with the Little Chef on the A5 roundabout near Brickhill (before the A5 continues on to Milton Keynes) at around 10.15 and leave by 10.25 latest (will this leave us enough time to get over to Aylesbury Pete S4? Doc? Stormie?).

This means anyone who want's to meet up before this at Clophill needs to be there early enough for us all to leave at around 9.30 for Brickhill.

See PeteS4's thread below, "on Yer Bike Ride In.....", he will be giving more details later today re: Bucks.

Lets hope the weather holds... :D :D :burnout:

Hi ya,

I won't be going to Clophill this week as I'm out to dinner with friends and to be honest I doubt I'll be going again now til next year as it gets dark by 7:30-8pm and I don't usually get there til 7:30pm.

How was the holiday?

Hi guys and gals, what time are you likely to be leaving ampthill, flitwick area?

I'm hoping to ride over in the morning and the best route i can find passes through both these places but after that it gets a bit iffy unless you know where you are going. If it's not too early I might tag along with you lot if it's OK with you. Would need an easy place to meet tho?

If the sun has got his hat on.... and I can find a route, I can't believe how stupidly fiddley it is to get from ipswich to aylesbury. I kid ye not, check out a map and find a road between the two that points in the right direction and don't stop after 5 miles.

PD....we are planning on meeting up at a village on the A6 in Bedfordshire called "Clophill" (one road in, one road out). We also plan to leave Clophill around 09:30. If you come over from Ipswich on the A45, pass Bury St Edmunds, pass Cambridge towards St Neots then pick up the A1 south (for about 1/2 mile and the A428 heading for Bedford, then pick up the A6, Clophill is about 8 miles outside Bedford on the A6 towards Luton.

If you let me know for sure, we will wait as long as we can for you......ride safe!

PD, remember the place we met on the way to the first monster weekend, that's Clophill. (or at least the place we were meant to meet, I think you and Dave shot past and I had to catch you up!)

I might now be struggling to make it. I am down in London most of the weekend, and not sure if I'll be back Sat night or not. Keep you posted.

Ok Chris, be nice for you and Elaine to ride over to Clophill with any other Bedford people that you can muster, if you are back in time... :burnout: .

....Haven't heard from "Dutchman" for some time, since his spill.....are you out there Dutchman and if so do you fancy this run-out?

I've sent you my mobile number PD, that time of the morning there should be no traffic, so I'm sure that your Monnie can blast along that route and be with us in no time at all...

Hope to meet you in Clophill Mate, we will wait until 9:30 if we don't hear from you sooner, then off to the A5 at Milton Keynes, then off to McMuffin-land Mmmmmmm!!! :)

So it looks like Paranoid Dave, Elaine and possibly Chris will be meeting me at Clophill to leave at 9.30.....what about "Kevlar Kid", "Will", any other guys from Beds, Herts, Cambs, fancy meeting up in Clophill and travelling over together?

We should then be meeting "Doc", "Stormie", "Laurent", "Keabs (& Nikki)", at the Little Chef on the A5 at Brickhill, where we will leave between 10:15 and 10:30. Does anyone else from Bucks/MK plan to meet up here and travel over to Aylesbury with us.

There are quite a few Gatso's on the road and quite a few large bushes for Plod and his hairdryer to hide behind, so will take it "fairly" easy over to McDonalds in Aylesbury.........where we meet up with all the others!

......now we just need to hope the weather holds out for a little longer.... :burnout:

I'm out of it guys sorry.

Just got back from a week in Wales touring on the S4 with Nikki, and after starting to clean it up a bit and put the hi-levels back on I decided to raise the rear ride height too.

Bloody hell, what a job. Both lock nuts on the ride height adjuster siezed solid so I took the whole adjuster out and gently, very gently (only the small hammer  ) released them.

I managed to adjust the ride height buy 25-30mm.

Well, this took the best part of 4 hours all told, and I've only just got the ride-height adjuster back in and the rear Ohlins bolted back up.

I'm goosed and am calling it a day, with the hi-levels still to go back on and the rest of the bike to clean, I'm not gonna make it tomorrow. Have a good one anyway, CUL

What a great day!! :D :D

Elaine, Paranoid Dave and I rode over from Clophill (stopping off at Biker Den for an exhaust bolt for Dave  ), then met up with Stormie, Doc, Laurent and some guy on a GSX1400. At McDonalds we were soon joined by several other "Mobs" of Monsters, including Terry's group and JMo's Posse! I took a couple of snaps of the bikes in McDonalds carpark, we took over about 6 car parking bays!

Thundering down the road to On-Yer-Bike, it was pretty awesome when we arrived to pull into the carpark....everything just stopped as we roared in.....at one point I counted 32 Monsters.. :burnout: :burnout: :burnout:

The few light showers of rain didn't affect anyone that I could see, and it was another great UKMOC day, as far as support from other counties was concerned. Nice to meet a few new faces, can't wait for the next get-together. Enjoyed the blast back as well with Stormie and Doc.

Dave, it was great to meet you and Kylie, I'll have to pop over next summer for one of your area meets. :D Glad we were able to help out with the exhaust bolt, I was almost as impressed by the assistance we were given by "Biker Den", as I was with the "emergency string" that you had in your paranoia pocket! If you want any photographs of my Monnie Mods, just let me know and PM me your e-mail address.

Still loving Kylies cute rear end!!!

Firstly, a big thanks to PeteS4 for arranging this great day and all the other Area Reps for arranging their own little ride-in's and again thanks to Pete for taking me as pillion - it was fun :bunny:

Shame about Shakey not making his appearance but Jason (stunt guy) kept us all entertained with his explosive burnouts (ahem) and well controlled stoppies (cough) I believe there was only myself, Pete, Paranoid Dave and Fatbloke left when Jason almost crashed into that £10-13k Benelli that was parked up...that was painful to watch

Good day out though, loved arriving on the back of the On Yer Bike Demo S4R that was leant to Pete on the previous day but was well depressed when sitting in the passenger seat of Pete's Pug 306 on the way home...sooo wanted to be pillion again :(

Can't wait now to get my first Monster and am in the process of booking more time with my instructor so I can get my test done by Christmas - fingers crossed I'll pass before then as apparently the new revised test comes out between January and July and it's really hard

You never know...Santa may get me a Monster for Christmas!? (yeah righto)

Thanks again everyone :)

...loved arriving on the back of the On Yer Bike Demo S4R...... but was well depressed when sitting in the passenger seat of Pete's Pug 306 on the way home...

Yes, it must have felt great for Pete to be back on a bike again after so many weeks just looking at the oil seeping out of it in his garage....fair play Buddy... ;) ...I was also similarly impressed (cough) with Marvin the Magical Stunt Cyclist... :D ....you could have sat behind Pete in the Peug and both keep your crash helmets on... ...Mrs Madhatter is also hoping to have passed her test before Christmas, but due to insurance costs and the high initial outlay on a decent Monster, we won't be getting a second Monster for the first year or two....once we can pay cash and fully comprehensive insurance is not an absolute discraceful rip-off, another Monnie may well appear in the Madhatter stables!.. :D

Soooooooorrryyyyyyyyy  They're supposed to be legal y'know, look good at night but by day they're a bit crap. One reason why my new undertray will be black and the lights point back - should help.

Sorry I had to leave early but thanks for organising things Pete and Steve. I had to rush home to get back to the ironing. You know how it is!!

Contrary to anything said prevoiusly the ride home was only 10% above the speed limits at all times!! :D
