I have a nice set of clip ons, I now need to fit the blighters. Now looking at the top of the forks there dosen't seem to be enough fork top to fit the clip on collar to. Do I need to adjust the cross members?

I already have renthals so the cables shouldn't need altering.

I think you got two choices....

1. Drop the forks further through the yokes so there is enough above the top yoke to mount the clip ons. Be warned, this will speed up the steering and may make the bike "shake it's head" over bumpy surfaces.

2. Fit the clip ons below the top yoke - undo the fork tube clamping bolts and slide each fork tube down until you can get the clip on over the end.

Hope this helps

My 99 M600 has the correct bit of fork tube showing above the yoke for the clipons to fit..........picture better than words

how much are you short by? standard set up should allow clip ons? mine come up the same depth as the (spareshack) clips. otherwise follow ped and bring some more up, this should improve your steering a bit as you will have a more weight over the front

Pedro, Muts, Dave Thanks for the advice I'm pretty sure that's the clearance I have - the clip ons don't fit flush though. I suspect another side effect of the crash that never happened. I'll take another look tonight. DD

dave? Alex surely! you want them as flush and pinched tight as possible for obvious reasons.
