Just to up date......halfords got me a filter in 3days it fitted and it cost £5.97 so I did a oil and filter change checked the long insert type filter which needed a 14mm allen key (i had to make one out of an old large one i had lying around) that i was told about, the job was nice and easy.

silkolene semi from local bike shop £17.95
oil filter from halfords £5.95
total £23.90

Not bad by my reconing......also hardly any metel swarf on the magnet, that with 5500 miles done from last oil change, which included 2000 mile ten day ride around scotland. next service at 12thou in shop which has quoted £325 + vat the Duke is a goodun! The next 4thousand miles is going to be just fun. see ya later :burnout:

filter and oil are so easy arent they? well done we should start an idiots guide for those who insist on getting things serviced by shylock cowboys....drain oil, replace filter, fill oil. hardly boolean algebra.

I think you'll find that Ducati only use 1 oil filter for all their bikes, so any Ducati filter will do. Ciao.

Just to note that genuine ducati oil filters from your main dealer are about the same price as pattern ones, and often cheaper, at just over a fiver.
