Any masochists from Sussex fancy joining in the fun down Bristol way?

If so, I would plan to leave Bury Hill at 7am (yes, that's right - means I'll be leaving home at 6.bloody.15am) to try and get to Bristol in reasonably good time...

Will take the A27/M27 (picking up any Hampsters en route) then the A36 to Salisbury & Warminster, then cut across on the A362 to the A37 into Bristol...

Must be fu**ing mad!

Any takers?

Hi Jen,

Are we heading up and back on the same day or do you fancy stopping over some where? We'll still meet up with you at 7am if that's ok, with Mr Sheene and polishing cloths at the ready!!

I'll be heading home the same day... but you guys are welcome to stay over if you prefer - PM Duncan if so.

Will head back a similar cross-country route (as long as weather holds) - thought we might go via Chippenham, Devizes, Andover, Winchester, then the A272 home...

See you bright and early - and with Autosol at the ready - very bright indeed!

Hi Jenny,

I'll be there at 7AM. Are we stopping for a swift b'fast on route or waiting 'till Bristol?

I doubt Bury Hill cafe will be open at that time, so I planned to stop at Ower Services (J2 M27 and the A36) for a McNasty breakfast and refuel for anyone who needs it...

Weather looks promising for Saturday at least... but we'll see... check in Friday night/v.early Saturday morning - because I don't fancy all that way in the rain either...

Hope it's sunny!

Can't make it tomorrow I'm afraid.

I'll be thinking of you all as I roll out of bed at around 10.30. Just make sure you go past my house quietly....

Have an ice cream for me.

You lot might want to wait till you get to bristol for your brekkie..st nicholas market (were smack in the middle of it) has an abundance of little stalls where you can get a superb home made brekkie (not a dodgy old greasy spoon!), and coffee to do die for !!

Thanks for the advice Natty Boy but I think we might be a bit peckish long before we get to Bristol - sounds like two breakfasts are in order then!

Julie,

Its only 2 hours from Loughborough to Bristol on the bike, or 2 1/2 hrs on the Fosse so dont try kidding us that youre leaving that early!!!!.

If I were coming from your place, could do it in 2 hours, would come down the A6, onto A46 Western by pass, M1 for a mile, M69 till Coventry then follow A46 all the way to Tewkesbury, then M5, M4, M32.
But tomorrow M5s busy going south tomorrow with the holiday traffic so best bet is the Fosse all the way from Leicester till Cirencester, then Tetbury, Badminton, onto A46 until M4 junction 19 then M4, M32. Or call me just before the motorway and I will put the kettle and bacon sarnies on at mine. 07768 338706 if you need directions.
