Well..sort of..!!

Its OK Pedro..you can start breathing again... (Pedro and I are founders of the tea tray appreciation society!).

Well I have to say I wasnt convinced by the S4R's back end, and not wanting to take a hacksaw to my 4 day old bike, this seemed the next best thing..the shortened DP tail.

Hope you like it..who knows..even Jen might approve !??

This is gonna make his head swell so much - I just tried to look at the photos again and it seems too many people have been admiring his new wheels and exceeded the bandwidth......

He's gonna need a bigger Arai soon.....

Desmo...its just a custom moulded carbon fibre tank protector with a sticker on it mate...may be up for grabs soon as I think its a bit small for the newun !!

Call me a fence sitter but I love the chop - normally. But this style of tray is the only one I like. It actually looks like it had some thought, it leaves parts of the frame showing where the plastic (or carbon) is not needed to hide the joints and bolts, just like on the rest of the bike. The shape is angled to compliment the rest of the bike and even has its own sense of agression and purpose. That's why I hate the others, for all the purpose of catching mud and holding a plate, it don't look in keeping with the rest of the bike.

Nice one Natty, just a shame it's carbon. ;)

Cheers dave !

Well..it didnt take long did it...was messing about trying to see how my new hugger fits when I realised....THE BLOODY RIGHT HAND HEELGUARDS FELL OFF !!! (or it wasnt fitted in the first place).

My missus said she thought she saw summat come off when she followed me back home on it...but I reckon it might have been missed at the factory as the threads are bone dry...

Cue phone call in the morning to dealer "well weve never had that before sir..." After all..what should you expect for £8300 these days.

No no no no no. It's a tea tray, and it's carbon. That makes it doubly worse!

There you are Nat, evened it up for you. Don't know where Jen's got to...

You can get clear LED rear lights from Busters - about £35 plus P&P.

Not shown on their web site but they are in their catalog.

13-07-2004, 07:51 AM
I know Aylesbury isn't that close, but have a look on the Beds forum and you will see that some Monsters from Beds and Bucks are meeting up for our monthly get together at a bike meet which is held every Tuesday at 7.30pm in Clophill, Beds.

It looks like being a nice evening, so if you fancy a nice rideout, it'll be great to meet you there!! :burnout:

peteS4
13-07-2004, 11:58 AM
that rear light may be all singing, all dancing,...........but because you still have the tea tray on your bike, you have the lugs sticking out where the indicators use to be and it leaves the back looking like something is missing

Somebody parked a crate  behind the Duke on the first picture, so the tail doesn't show up that well

err that IS the tea tray, no doubt causing the duke to not show up that well!

To pete S4.
Maybe I should have waited to take the pics until I had fitted the same Tea Tray as Natty Boy has just fitted to his S4R, also I will be fitting a set of Rizoma Zero indicators, therefore, it will have 4 indicators at the rear, just to be different :p :p :p :D

Where do I get a Tea Tray like Natty's?

DesmoDom

From any Ducati dealer, it's a DP part, cost's just under £148,00.

peteS4
13-07-2004, 05:43 PM
lol......... aint that always the way................ when i cut my tail off, i got led light for £40, tinycators for £30, bars end weights to plug the holes for £10 and cut up and bent an old set of feeler gauges to make brackets.................. it all looks good,........... but thank god i'm good with a set of spanners.................

DesmoDom
13-07-2004, 05:50 PM
Yeah I can do all the work myself too, it's just that the bits cost so bloody much. I swore that after spending £5.000 on nice bits for my 996, that I would never do it again, but it's started aint it !!! :D :D :D

The Monster is a NAKED bike. Send those trays back to Ducati. Make sure they get the message. They come off easy and there's more Monster under there!

Sorry, but I hadn't seen this thread had started...

PD - what on earth are you talking about? And Baz, 148 notes for that?

For once words fail me... oh no, hang about, I've just been inspired by my mate Andy at Zorstec....

(I think some of you know what's coming...)
