hi peeps!!

well after the track day my front tyre is now a slick :D
need a new one, can anyone recommend a place in manc? ive had one quote so far, phoned about 20 tyre places; no one does bikes! £99 fitted for a Michelin Macadam 90x (to match the rear) does this sound about right?

cheers,
rick.

Rick

you shouldbe able to get something like Dunlop D207/8 mail order for about £140 ish - costs about a tenner to get fitted. Most bike workshops should be able to fit them.

Down sarf i got fitted balanced Dunlop 207 for 900 for £95.00. the front was quoted at £70.00 for 207 RR.

Look around. Get them mail order and pay a tenner to have fitted. They will :D

Manc

didn't make it to the track day.

I got a pair of D207s from Busters for £135 - cost a tener to have them fitted at my local Pro-Tyre depot. For that little, it's worth changing the pair.

wel the best ive found so far is £90 fitted for the front, with a michelin 100x to match the rear, otherwise £140 for the pair +fitting, oh well. feeling a bit fleeced here, "come on son! just another £50 and you can have a new rear too!"

Go for the pair and save the old one for track day :D

Park you bike with the front wheel against a high kerb, select first gear, dial up about 5000 reves and smoke the rear tyre - that should even out the wear levels!

So, whats the consensus on tyres then, when I rode Beemers the tyres to use were Metzelers, is there a tyre thats fits Monsters like a glove like no other. Think mine is fitted with Bridgestone Battlaxs (hehe makes me laugh anyway, somebody got paid for thinking that name up :p )

Tyres of choice???

Pirelli Diablo's, D207/8, Rennsports, Bridgestones - so much choice....

Heard lots of good things about the Diablos esp Corsa version. I like my D207s - warm up quickly and very predictable. Only slippy when covered in chain oil.....

nah no worries, they fixed it for me... dont ask me how i thawt it was borked... you know, for a tyre place that refuses to take the wheel off the bike because of insurance crap, i did have 3 guys helping me put it back on :D
