View Full Version : Clutch problem

I have just fitted a new clutch slave cylinder that I got from Stuart at Spareshack.
It is the one that is supposed to make it easier to pull the clutch in.
Anyway I have fitted it and bled it.
The problem is it is not disengaging the clutch properly.
i.e. the clutch is dragging.
Now the cluch was doing this before although I put it down to the old slave cylinder leaking slightly.
Has anybody got any ideas as to whats wrong?
Is this a common problem that has an easy fix?
Perhaps shim the piston up?

Any help would be grateful.

Thanks.

Norrie.

Dot 4 fluid.
Non adjustable levers.
I've bled it several times.

how many miles has the bike done? It might be that the clutch basket is worn where the plates engage and the plates are sticking a little. If it was doing it before, I reckon this could be the cause.

The bikes only done 6500 miles.
I will bleed it again now it has settled.
How easy is it to strip the clutch?

Cheers.

It seems to be okay now.
I think it just needed left overnight to allow all the bubbles to diapear and then re-blead it.
Yeah I seen your cylinder on e-bay.
I still might bid on it as the ones on this bike dont look great.
I then might polish it or paint it.

Have you sold your bike yet mate?
It turns out the bike that we bought is originally from your neck of the woods.
