Has anybody else got caught out by this wretched thing? I was on an evening ride out the other day, the only Ducati in 14 bikes, and must have just gone over the 15 second delay. By the time I realised all the others had gone, passing snide remarks about Ducati realiability as they went off.

If it could be delayed to say a minute, that would be far better. Does anyone know if that can be done?

No it's like that as standard, why not get your kit on etc with key in ignition and not turned on, then just start up, whilst your mates get going.. The only problem I've ever had, was when the ignition immobilser in barrel slipped down, therefore was not 'de-imobilizing' the engine and had nothing there at all! had to get towed home.... :(

The fifteen seconds is standard to prevent anyone tampering with the bike, a minute was deemed to long, it would give a thief time for a work-around the imobiliser.
Also it was to protect the electrical system.

I asked the same question when I bought the bike.
