View Full Version : Changed back to 15t sprocket - clutch feels like slipping?

Hi all,

Having gone down to a 14t sprocket on myM600 and then back to the 15t because of a loss on top end (I went back before a track day at Snetterton - long straights so top end needed), it now feels like the clutch is, well, slipping sort of. It only feels like this in 2nd and 3rd and cannot make my mind up if it actually is or not. All I can really think to describe it is the revs feel almost like they are climbing slightly without a oomph in acceleration.

Yet if I click into top at low speed and open it up, there is no slipping (traditionally how I was told to check, certainly for a car).

Is this symptomatic of going back up a tooth? I had the bike dynojetted with the 14t sprocket on; I don't know if this would make a difference.

Incidently, the bike has done 13k miles and I am not a wheelie freak so do not grab handfuls of clutch all the time. Should a wet clutch on a Duke go beyond 13k?

Any help, as always appreciated!
