Hi, Funny that, I had the same problem, glad it's not just me... I thought as I was comparing figures with the S4 that it was the rear sprocket that i would change, as that's a 37 tooth, and the R is 42, but I have since heard that if you just change front from 15 to 14, that should do the trick without losing power... :)

I was told if you dropped a tooth on the front sprocket it may cause clearence problems with the chain running through the swing arm

14 tooth does the trick, although you may find first gear a bit lively. I had no swingarm clearence probs.

Since having the power commander I have gone back to 15t front and 1 up on the rear sprocket. This seems to be this best compromise.

I may still have the 14t front, I'll have a look tonight.

I went from a 42 rear to a 44 rear-certainly livens it up a bit in 1st and 2nd!-makes 6th useable as well, 6th ends up 80mph/5000rpm,I think if you lift the rear suspension the 14t front causes too much chain/swing arm rub, I had a 14t i took off my S4 before I sold it and still went the rear sproket way
