Hi,

Can anyone tell me what fits where I have drawn a red circle?

Its on a LHS of 900 Dark (Ithink its a '99 model)

Thanks

I think it is a oil fitting location for a earlier configuration of the motor. It just isnt drilled and tapped on the newer bikes. I asked the same question a while back and I think that was the answer.

You may find that something like an SS has slightly different oil feeds so the cases are made with more than one option. The one that's need is then drilled etc

I've got a sensor there on my SS - I assume it's the fuel injection flywheel position sensor. Not sure if the M900ie has the same set-up as my SS tho.

If it's for Fuel Injection, why has my 93 M900 got this?

I would hazard a guess it's because the crankcases are shared with the 851/888? Not sure if they are the same cases, but I think I'm right in saying that the 851 and 888 were FI, and of the same period as your bike Ped.

It's for the fuel injection pick-up sender off the flywheel.

Like a lot of Ducati stuff, castings are generic, it's just the final maching that makes them unique...

same with many thingsa tvs mobile phones etc, the casings have panels to be used in later or more expensive models. keeps costs down.

To be honest its cause I'm a lazy so 'n' so and enjoy my lie ins on the weekend so rarely rise before noon.
However with the lighter evenings may be some evening run outs?
