has anyone put a 180/55 on the rear??? Whats it like, I have standard Michilin Poohs front profile looks like the back one!!! Errrr, anyway, was looking at a set of MEZ3 or Reinsports! but the size's are more readyly avaliable in 180/55, Iv done a searcg and the only comment i saw was the 180 caused the rear to react badly on surface changes??

any help???

I've had 180 on the rear since I got the bike so can't comment on the change, but I have no problems with it, and a couple of people who have riden my bike say it handles well.

I had a larger rear and now have standard. Prefer standard. Bigger followed road imperfections (tramlining) which is typical for overtyring.

If you put larger tyre on the rear it will slow down the turn in quite noticably so you will have to alter the suspension to compensate. I would advise you to stick to standard cos that is what the Ducati test riders found what was best, and them guys are smarter than most of us.

Yeah i think im going for a 180 there is only 3mm diffrence in profile hight between a 180/55 and a 170/60 (3mm lower on 180) I may try a 120/60 for the front but im looking into this now, antone done a 120/60?? should make it a bit more stable in the corners, i found more feed back on my kawa with a 60 profile, rather than standard 70 but all bikes are diffrent and react diffrently to change, We'll see.... cheeers

I remember an article in a mag a year or 2 ago with a monster 900 with 120/60 front tyres and the tester didn't like it. Not sure why? The 600 comes with a 60 profile as standard I think.

I have used a 120/60 on the front of the 900- it was a mistake with the mail order but was desperate so fitted it anyway. I couldn't feel any difference in the steering
