I would like to hear which spark plugs people are using in the 600's ours was fitted with NGK DPR 9EA-9

the manual calls for a Champion RA 6 HC

the NGK DPR 9EA-9 plugs continually foul and I am trying NGK DR8ES plugs, I figure the the number rating to be the heat value of the plug hence gone down one for my wifes non demanding riding style. Looking at the Champion reference and assuming they are roughly the same range, then the NGK plugs would appear way out of range.

Well let me know your thoughts they will be appreciated.

ngk 9 s are standard I thought, I used 8s like u for the bleak midwinter. Range wise are you assuming the champ 6 being lower would be hotter therefore 6 is the default heat of plug? Im no expert but that level of inter brand harmonisation would suprise me! anyone else?

Just put some NGK DPR9EA 9's in my 600..............ho hum!

Out of interest ( and to add to the confusion! ) the Champion plugs that came out were RA8HC. Always looked ok as I checked 'em a few times when i fitted the open cans.
Haynes book of lies says RA4HC for the 600's and RA6HC for 750 and 900's

Mine are NGK DPR 9EA-9. Work fine all year round.

NGK DPR 9EA -9.

I found these foul less than the 'standard' Champions.

The NGK's do foul if you do a lot of town work, I always carry spares but it's not necessarily the riding style, more the starting technique. I have found from long experience that my 98 M600 doesn't like to be sat on 'part choke', I leave it on 'full' and only close it part way just before i pull away. Might be worth trying different techniques to see what works for you.
