Aaaahhh, just re-read your post (not enough Vino Collapso first time round).

It's yer carb heater switch Sir! Ooooooooo, perfessional job that Sir, turning that switch (sharp intake of breath between teeth), gonna take at least six hours...

yeah I lookked earlier and was 99 % thats where the thing is! braids, oil, carbs, switch...oh its a heater!! is the on popsition 180 in line with the line or on at 90 degrees perpendicular. have a feeling it was on in the cold not that it helped much. cheers lee, have a virtual cigar!

90 degree is on. Basically 'point' the tap to the carbs for on, to the rad for off.
